On the wild side - wildlife conservation and the historic built environment
Good communication is essential to all aspects of conservation. Some specific English examples will be presented where the conservation of the historic and natural environments have been approached in tandem. The general guidance and approach that evolved from that experience within the historic environment sector in the 1990s will be described as well as the position as it is today.

Nature and Monument - Examples and Results of INTERREG IIIb Project - Baltic Fort Route
In the presentation results of investigations about the influence of flora on five different Fortifications in the Baltic sea region will be shown. Conflicts between Nature Protection and Monument Protection will discussed and solutions by different utilisation concepts presented.

This presentation will discuss how some of the project proposals founded in the EU project Baltic Fort Route, have been realized during the last couple of years, focusing on the interconnection between and coexistence of buildings and nature.
